Once again Tor di Quinto plays host to the Ice Park. The inauguration takes place on 1st December in viale Tor di Quinto 55, in the area named Mondofitness. At 18 pm the gates of Christmas Market 2010 shall be opened. The Tor di Quinto Ice Park has now reached its 5th edition, and thanks to the success of past editions, which saw an attendance of 10.000 ice skating lovers, the event is destined to a bright future. Despite its name, however, the Ice Park event is not just about ice, in fact this year a real Christmas Village will be created around the ice rink, with typical wooden little houses overlooking the main street, where to taste all sorts of typical products and do some shopping in a warm place, immersed in the cheerful atmosphere of Christmas festivities.

This event aims at being a true moment of aggregation for the capital, where visitors can try their hand at ice skating, a sport which is pretty unusual in Rome, and have the chance to see the evolutions of real masterclasses and world champions doing their stunning performances.

Children will also have their share of emotions thanks to the animation offered by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie and many other characters, which will entertain every day the youngest visitors on the ice rink with games and shows.

How to reach and car parks

By plane

By train

There are several train stations in Milan:
Milan central station, the most important one, is connected with the main European destinations Porta Garibaldi station (not too far away from the central station) Milano Rogoredo (South)
Milano Lambrate (South)
Milano Certosa (west)
Greco Pirelli (north)

By car

Milan is served by the highwayA8 from north, A4 from the east to the west, A1 from south. In order to access the downtown by car you need to pay a fee called ECOPASS. This restricted area is marked with white and blue ECOPASS signs .

The Natale delle Meraviglie is an event patronized by the Secretary of the State for Tourism, and represents a good chance to live the Christmas atmosphere in the delightful setting of the Old Town, in a winter frame which is pretty unusual for San Marino visitors.

There are so many funny and pleasant initiatives from December to the Epiphany, such as exhibitions, concerts, performances by street artists, creative laboratories exc…

Christmas in San Marino is the perfect occasion for a tourist to know the other side of San Marino, mostly know in its summer aspect, which reveals to be as well fascinating and attracting, with the lovely Old Town wrapped up in lights and Christmas decorations.

The town offers a rich calendar of events: the traditional market, full of gifts and food and craftsmanship manufactures, and many attractions for children and adults.

Santa Claus, beautiful fairies and imps all head to San Marino at Christmas time…. this is not a dream, this is Snow Globe!

CHRISTMAS WORLD

A magic corner where kids can have fun watching the puppets theatre, baby dance and many other entertainments, in good company of fairies and a spiteful imp.

An artistic workshop for children will take place in the days of the market, from 15.00 to 18.00.

NURSERY MOUNTAIN HUT

A true nursery, heated and perfectly equipped with microwave, changing table, high chairs and little sofa for breast feeding. This is a free service and includes supply of diapers, towels and zinc oxide cream.

How to get there

By car

Highway A14, exit Rimini Sud then take the Superstrada following directions to San Marino city centre

By train

The nearest railway station is Rimini, only 25 km away. There is just one direct train, leaving once a day from Rome to Rimini and viceversa. From Rimini there are also many other connections via Bologna and Ancona.

By plane

The Republic of San Marino is served by the international airport of Rimini-San Marino “Federico Fellini”, located just a few kilometres from the town.
