Canterburyis a lovely town situated approximately 20 minutes from Dover, in Kent. It owes its fame to the medieval tale collections Canterbury Tales, written by the poet Chaucer and inspired by Boccaccio’s Decameron.
People arriving in Canterbury can wander around the beautiful lanes of the city centre and let themselves be seduced by the little shops, but the must-see place remains the wonderful Cathedral. Canterbury in fact is the seat of the Anglican Church. The Christmas Market is held in Whitefriars Square.
