During the Advent period, the entire city of Zurichis illuminated by the seducing lights and colors of Christmas decorations, from the scent of ginger and mulled wine, to the voices of the children choir cheering up locals and visitors with Christmas Carols. The shopping offer is also rich and varied, with markets and shops in the city centre remaining open also on Sunday.

Another market can be found underneath the railway station in Zurich main station. This is Europe’s largest indoor Christmas Market. More than 16o decorated stalls inspire visitors for gifts: from bijoux to fabrics, from food to decorations. In the middle of the monumental station hall, more than 5000 Swarowski jewels glow from a giant Christmas tree, fascinating children and adults.
At Zurich main station, one of the biggest indoor christmas markets takes place. About 150 festively decorated market stands provide plenty of gift ideas. The magnificient 40 feet high christmas tree with over 7’000 shiny cristal ornaments outshines the main hall and is a favoured subjects for photos

By train
Zurich is placed in the middle of an extensive network of high speed railways and train hubs, making it an easy destination to reach.

By car
In Switzerlandhighways and single carriageways require payment. To drive on Suisse highways you need to display a vignette on the windshield of your vehicle before entering the road. Speed limits are 120km/h on highways and100 km/hon carriageways. There are often controls and fines can be quite expensive.
